Holiday Mince Tarts
This was a labour of love for James and a request from a YouTube subscriber. I tried making these British treats with several different crusts. First with an almond shortbread tart shell, which was so delicious, but stuck badly, and got very soft after sitting. I tweaked the recipe, and got it to not stick, but it browns overly if you blind bake it first to keep it crisp. Mincemeat Tart Filling | Dairy-Free/Vegan
(Small Batch – perfect for 1 large tart or 10–12 mini tarts) Sounds kinda weird for a dessert, but it’s really just a fruity filling, packed with a variety of dried fruits like raisins, berries, soaked in a sweet spiked juice. It sits to let the flavours meld, then gets used as a tart filling.
