I was still feeling flared after eating too many of my “no”/triggger foods over New Years, so I felt like making some green juice this week but didn’t feel like digging out my (very heavy) juicer.
So let’s make it WITHOUT a juicer.

This one is inspired by our fall trip to Mexico where we got to drink fresh made “Jugo Verde” with breakfast each morning.
Ingredients:
💚Celery, handful of stalks, ends trimmed
🥒Cucumber, one large, quartered
🍏Apple, 1-2, core removed
🥬Spinach, handful
💚Optional: cilantro or parsley, if you have some
A juicer is by far the most efficient way to make green juice (for the most juice extracted/driest pulp), but they can be expensive (plus ours is a pain to disassemble & clean - and not stored in an easy to reach spot), so here are 2 ways to make green juice without a juicer. ⬇️
Both involve using a blender - blend all your juice ingredients until smooth. This has enough liquid in the veggies that it will blend thoroughly but feel free to add a liquid of choice for flavours if you prefer (coconut water, a juice, etc)
Then remove the excess pulp one of two ways:
1. Pour thru a fine mesh strainer, and stir the pulp with a spatula until all the liquid goes through. This can take a bit of stirring/pressing the pulp.
2. Use a nut milk bag to squeeze the juice from the pulp. I find this way gets the most juice from the pulp (besides using a real juicer of course).
