Naturally sweetened, better for you, Reese’s peanut butter hearts for Valentine’s Day 💘🍫 - made 3 ways so you can make your fav!!
1️⃣ ALMOND REESES
1/4 cup(64g) peanut butter or nut butter of choice
3/4 cup (74g) almond flour
1/4 cup (60g) maple syrup*
pinch sea salt
2️⃣ COCONUT REESES
1/2 cup (128g) peanut butter or nut butter of choice
1/2 cup (56g) coconut flour
1/4 cup (60g) maple syrup*
pinch sea salt
3️⃣ PROTEIN REESES
1/2 cup (128g) peanut butter or nut butter of choice
1/2 cup (38g) unflavoured protein powder
1/4 cup (60g) maple syrup*
pinch sea salt
COATING
1/2 cup df/v dark chocolate chips*
1 tsp coconut oil
Combine ingredients and mix until a play-doh like dough forms. Depending on your coconut flour or protein powder used, you may need to add extra powder/flour if yours is too wet, or extra nut butter if yours is too dry
Roll between parchment sheets to 1/4” to 1/2” thick, as desired
Use a heart cookie cutter to cut heart. Shapes, then transfer to a lined tray. You can gather up all your scraps and re-roll them until you’ve used all the dough. With your last bit, you can press it into the top of the cookie cutter or hand-shape a ball.
Freeze your cut-outs for 15-20 minutes
Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave in 30sec bursts until melted and smooth
Dip your shapes in chocolate and chill to set - I like to use 2 forks so the excess can drip back into the chocolate bowl. If you have extra chocolate, you can transfer it to a small piping bag or ziplock, snip a tiny piece off the corner and pipe designs on your hearts. OR simply drizzle from a spoon or fork.
