Most of which we also share on our YouTube Channel, as well as our second instagram account, & TikTok. Gluten-Free Dairy-Free-ified Compost Cookies
Come along & listen to my thought process as we try to gluten-free & dairy-free-ify another recipe! This time it’s Lynja’s* Compost Cookies from the Nick DiGiovanni Knife Drop cookbook. We’re trying out some fun new goodies too as mix-ins: I found some slightly “cleaner” candy-coated df/vegan chocolate chips to use as M&Ms, as well as naturally coloured gf cornstarch-free sprinkles from Pure Foods. (Though I wasn’t a huge fan of the crunchy-ness of the candy-coated choc chips

GF/DF Homemade Chicken Nuggets
Come along as we try to gluten-free & dairy-free our favourite chicken nugget recipe (plus some of my ramblings/explanations of how/why I’m doing it a certain way). If you want the exact/original recipe, you can find it in Nick Giovanni’s cookbook: Knife Drop. We’ve been loving everything we’ve made from his book so far, but it’s not gf/df, so we’re going to see if we can convert some of them over for those of us with dietary restrictions, in a new series we’re going to call

Happy French Toast Day - Recipe
Today is National French Toast Day!! Growing up french toast was one of my fav meals, and I would make it for dinner sometimes too. Use our new fluffy sandwich bread for a great gf version. Make it super fun by adding lots of toppings for everyone to mix & match and make it their own. Ingredients 4 slices of fluffy sandwich bread, defrosted and lightly toasted or left out to get stale so it holds up to the egg/milk mixture. 2 eggs splash of milk of your choice (we use coconut

Our Gluten Free Stuffing Recipe - Thanksgiving 2023
This recipe was a HUGE hit this Thanksgiving. It was everyone's fav dish, and we all went for seconds and thirds. Switch out the protein to suit your tastes, and make the most delicious and crispy stuffing for your next holiday get together. :) Ingredients: 2lbs ground pork (we used pasture raised ground pork from Brandner's instead of sausages that sometimes have hidden/not-so-clean added ingredients. If you don't eat pork, you can totally sub any other ground meat/meat subs

Apple Crisp Recipe (2 ways)
With apple season finally here (we got some yummy apples from Lee & Maria's this week, and also picked out first apple from our new Honeycrisp tree in our backyard!) I've dusted off my mom's old apple crisp recipe, and given it a gluten-free, refined-sugar-free overhaul. Hope you like it! I make it two different ways: 1. As one bigger crisp: This makes enough for a 8x8 baking dish, and is great for sharing. For that, we like to bake it in a square 8x8 pyrex baking dish. 2. On

Double Chocolate Zucchini Bread Recipe
In our house, zucchini season calls for double chocolate zucchini bread!! Back when I was little, my grandma would make us zucchini bread, using zucchinis they had grown in their backyard garden. Now we do it every time we get too many zucchinis, but with a healthier take on it. Gluten-free, dairy-free, and no refined sugar. No fancy steps or equipment required, and it's all mixed in one bowl, so easy clean up too. INGREDIENTS 1 large or 2 smaller zucchinis (after shredding y

Gluten Free & Actually Crunchy Battered Fish
Being English, fish & chips was a big part of my husbands' life. We used to have a "fish fry" almost every Sunday evening. But when I went gluten-free, I switched to pan-fried (unbuttered) fish that I would eat when he would do a fish fry. And slowly the fish fry tradition kind of fell away. Now, whenever my parents come to visit, he uses it as a "excuse" to do a fish fry, and I started working on a gluten-free batter. It took a few tries to get a batter that was tasty, and a

Buckwheat Pancake Recipe (gf)(veg)
Use this recipe to make heart pancakes in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIrECcTgIg8&t=126s My family was making pancakes this morning for breakfast, and I felt like switching it up from my regular almond-flour based pancakes, so we made a buckwheat batter instead. They turned out great, and were easy to cook (not like a lot of other gf recipes that are super tricky to flip). So here's a great gluten-free recipe, for when you feel like switching it up too. B

Grain-Free, Corn-Free Sorghum "Popcorn"
Photo: organic air-popped popcorn (left), with organic pan-popped sorghum (right). If you're looking for a grain-free/corn-free alternate to popcorn, give this recipe a try! It uses organic pseudo-grain sorghum in place of corn kernels, for a healthier alternative, and uses pretty much the same technique as stove-top popcorn. (We tried in the air-popper but the sorghum kernels are so light, they flew out before popping). Have you heard of sorghum? It's a nutrient packed pseud

Our Favourite Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Ever wonder what to do with all those seeds (after you've carved your Halloween pumpkins, or made some pumpkin pies)? Every Halloween we try different recipes roasting the pumpkin seeds. This year, this was the winner! We tried several different recipes from adding paprika & garlic powder, to everything bagel spice, to these guys. The secret... white vinegar! These were an attempt to make salt & vinegar flavoured pumpkin seeds (cuz our kids love S&V potato chips). And althoug

Chocolate Avocado Breakfast Pudding
Creamy, chocolatey pudding, made easy with only 3 ingredients. Add some optional toppings for crunch, and you’re all set for a sweet-tooth-satisfying breakfast, full of healthy fats to keep you full until lunch. I love to make a bunch of these and freeze them for easy on-the-go breakfasts, when I don't have time to make something (Farmer's Market mornings!!). It's also great for when all your avocados and bananas go ripe at the same time, and you don't know what to do with th

DIY Tortilla/Pita Chips Recipe
Sticking with this week's "Creation Giveaway" theme, these make-your-own pita/tortilla chips are so quick & easy, you can make them in your oven in the time it takes to reheat leftover curry/soup. Or use them with your favourite dip or humus!! I don't know about you, but I totally miss corn. I used to put corn in my soups, our chili, and tortilla chips with salsa, dips or guac is just awesome. (And fresh Lafferty's corn on the cob!!! OMG. Don't we have the best corn here in E
