Dare to take a bite? These Oozy Chocolate Spiderweb Tarts are gluten-free, dairy-free, and perfectly creepy for Halloween! With a crunchy oreo cookie crust, a gooey “bloody” caramel centre, & a silky dark chocolate ganache, they’re spooky & indulgent & guaranteed to impress your little ghouls and goblins. 👻✨
Makes 4 x 4” tarts. Don’t have small tart shells? You could make LOTS of tiny spiderweb tarts using a cupcake pan/liners
🍪Oreo Cookie Crust:
* 240g gluten-free double stuff oreos
* 3-4 tsp coconut oil, melted
* Pulse oreos (including the filling), in food processor until fine crumbs. Add coconut oil, and pulse until texture of wet sand. If you use regular gf oreos (not double stuff), you may need to add 1-2 more tsp of coconut oil to get it to wet sand. Then divide into 4 tart shells and press into crusts & chill.
🩸 Caramel Ooze Layer (or see other filling ideas below):
* 110g vegan caramel sauce (see below for our easy no cook vegan caramel sauce)
* red food colour (we used 1 1/2 tsp organic beet powder)
* Combine & spread into base of tarts.
🍫Ganache Layer:
6 tbsp (78g) coconut cream (scooped off the top of a can of coconut milk, chilled overnight*)
* 6 tbsp (64g) df dark chocolate of choice
* 1-3 tsp maple syrup, to taste, depending on your choc
* 1/4 tsp vanilla
* Combine ingredients and melt in microwave in 30 sec bursts until fully melted. Whisk/stir well until it emulsifies (the streaks will go away and it will thicken slightly), then pour into tart shells until almost full (leave a little space for displacement when we pipe the white chocolate)
🕸️White Chocolate Spiderweb:
* 2 tbsp 25g df white chocolate of choice
* Toy spiders, optional
* Gently melt white chocolate in microwave in 30 second burst until almost melted, then stir until last bits melt, and it’s nice and smooth. If it’s really runny, let sit a few minutes to cool and thicken slightly, then transfer to a piping bag or ziplock bag. Snip a tiny corner off you bag, and starting at the centre of each tart pipe a white chocolate spiral. While still warm, use a wooden skewer, tooth pick or even a fork, drag from the centre, thru the spiral to create the web design. Then chill until set, & enjoy!!

⬇️NOTES/CARAMEL/OTHER IDEAS⬇️
**Put your can of coconut milk into the fridge the day before. This allows the thick part to solidify and make it easier to take the thickest portion for our tart filling.
