🤎 My Homemade Chocolate Sprinkles

I was making sprinkles to restock my sprinkle bins at the bakery last week, and thought I should share my chocolate sprinkle recipes with you!

I’ve shared my caramel sprinkles and my super tricky coloured sprinkles, but these ones are actually the EASIEST to make, and a great starting point if you’ve never made your own sprinkles before.

So here’s how I make my coconut sugar-sweetened chocolate sprinkles. I put them on my gluten-free/paleo/vegan chocolate cakes & cupcakes.

(This is half the batch size of my video batch - unless you want 2 giant sheet trays worth…then go ahead and double it)

And if you like, you can watch the video here:https://youtube.com/shorts/2rWzDbQguz0?feature=share

Ingredients

  • 75g coconut sugar, powdered in a blender

  • 20g cocoa powder, sifted to remove lumps (or it may clog your piping tip)

  • 1 tbsp water

  • 1 tbsp vanilla

  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine, and mix until a thick paste forms

  2. Transfer to a piping bag with a tiny round tip (4 or 5 works well) or just snip the corner off a ziplock bag (but FYI, if you use ziplocks as piping bags often, piping bags can actually be cheaper, even in small quantities off Amazon - yes, I did the math).

  3. Pipe in rows on parchment lined trays

  4. Allow to dry at room temperature, uncovered for 24-48 hours until fully dry (they should come off the parchment easily & snap nicely when bent - if not fully dry, just let them dry another day).

  5. Slice or break into sprinkle-sized pieces

  6. Store in airtight container

  7. Enjoy!!
